Silver and gold metallic spoons work great for stripers and blues. I like the Kastmaster as it has a very minnow-esque wobble to it that they love to hit. As far as color goes I stick to the pattern of clear water I use colors like red and white, chartruse and white, all white, light green but when the water is murky or dark I use a dark brown, black or dark purple. The darker colors allow a better shilloute in the water that is easier for the fish to see hence more strikes. This pattern rarely fails to stick a few for my cooler. If you are gong for blues make sure you add at least 12" to 18" of a cable or wire leader because Blues will shred anything else! Good Luck and Tight Lines!

Good question! I prefer the shiney chrome ones if I am fishing for Stripers. Bluefish, get a floater with light bottom and darker top - some are green, some blue. I don't care for the orange ones.

But bluefish go after anything you thow in the school. Be sure you have long strong steel leaders (black). So they don't go after your line! I lost more blues that way.
